My name is Stephanie. I'm just a college kid that studies Microbiology during the day and drums at night.

notonedisguise:

Just discovered cocktail kits. Popular in the jazz days between the 30’s and 60’s as jazz groups were becoming smaller and smaller. Played standing up or on a high stool, the long drum in the middle is hit on the bottom with an inverted pedal for a bass sound and the top head has snares underneath, separated by a sheet of non-responsive material so that the bass hits do not make the snares buzz. Arm attachments on the side of the shell allows for extra toms, a side snare if desired, or other percussive instruments. Really looking into getting one, since my taste in drums as shifted to more compact setups. Any drummers on here familiar with them or have played them before?
